Overview

Introduced in 1998, the MF-102 Ring Modulator featured three fully modular functions: a ring modulator, a voltage-controlled carrier oscillator, and a voltage-controlled two-waveform low-frequency oscillator (LFO).

Designed by Bob Moog and his engineering team, the MF-102 is a direct descendant of the original Moog modular synthesizer, processing inputs from guitars, voices, synthesizers to any audio source imaginable. adapted to be played, modulated and played.

The MF-102 Ring Modulator has been painstakingly recreated as the MF-102S, and not only does it have the spacey, retrofuturistic sound of the original, but the parameters work organically to create a musical playing experience.

The MF-102S plug-in further customizes classic Moogerfooger functionality for the modern digital creator with CV interconnection, stereo capabilities, an expanded feature set, the ability to run multiple instances and presets.

The MF-102S Ring Modulator also has unique features not found on hardware instruments:

CARRIER TYPE switches between the original MONO carrier oscillator and the STEREO carrier oscillator, and outputs phase-shifted stereo carrier signals with PANNING and REVERSE.

LFO POLARITY affects the polarity of the LFO and can be either BIPOLAR or UNIPOLAR.

The MF-102S has CV inputs for carrier frequency, LFO rate, LFO amount, mix, and a separate CARRIER input that can attenuate or soften these modulations.
