Introducing HoRNet Freqs, an easy-to-read spectrum analyzer plug-in with two modes

Today, I would like to introduce HoRNet's easy-to-read spectrum analyzer plug-in HoRNet Freqs.

It's free, but if you share it on SNS (Facebook or Twitter), it will be free.

If you have a paid spectrum analyzer, you may not need it, but you can switch between analog style and digital display, and the size is variable, making it easy to see.

Overview

HoRNet Freqs is a spectrum analyzer that offers two different kinds of visualization of the audio spectrum. The first is called “analog” and was inspired by the analog hardware spectrum analyzers still found in many recording studio masters today. The other is called “digital” and is our own take on the classic spectrum analyzer based on FFT (standard mathematics for converting audio files into spectral components).

Freqs' GUI is fully resizable, and thanks to hardware-accelerated drawing, it looks crisp and smooth on any display.

The plugin offers different integration times and ranges for the levels displayed by the spectrum analyzer and also offers a peak hold feature not available on the original hardware unit. Freqs can display both the mid (or sum) and side (or difference) portions of a stereo signal, helping you isolate problem frequencies.

Installation

When you unzip the downloaded file, there are files of each format inside, so for Win, basically, put the VST3 file "HoRNetFreqs_x64.vst3" in the folder below.

C: \ Program Files \ Common Files \ VST3

If you are using a DAW that does not support VST3, put "HoRNetFreqs_x64.dll" in the VST2 folder.

Most VST2 folders are one of the following:

C:Program FilesVSTPlugIns
C \ Program Files \ Steinberg \ VST Plugins
C \ Program Files \ Steinberg \ Cubase \ VSTPlugins
C: \ Program Files \ Common Files \ VST2
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Steinberg\VST2

Summary

free spectrum analyzerSPANHowever, since it is too sophisticated, HoRNet Freqs is better for those who prefer simplicity.

HoRNet has released many other plug-ins that can be downloaded for free, so please check them out.
