From the conclusion, it is recommended for the following people.

・ Those who say, "I want to make chord progressions with my intuition, regardless of the fashion!"
・ Those who want to get rid of their habits
・ Those who have a Pad like NI's Mashine
・ Those who have a melody but do not know what to do with the chords
・ Those who have become a rut in songwriting

It's similar to Scaler 2, but if you specify a key or scale, it will display the chords that can be used with that key or scale, and you can make a chord progression just by intuitively selecting it.

You can also select a note and generate a chord from it, so you can create a chord according to the note used in the melody.

Forager overview

Forager provides a fresh and exciting way to create unique chord progressions that inspire great melodies, basslines and drum patterns. It provides the following features:

Forager itself makes no sound.

If you want to make sound, you need to route MIDI out to another source.

Most DAWs are officially explained about how to route, and some are explained with videos.

What you can do with Forager

I will focus on the points.

・ You can assemble the code intuitively without any knowledge of the code.
・ You can place your favorite code on 16Pad

You can assemble the code intuitively without any knowledge of the code.

As a feature of Forager, a list of chords that can be used for notes specified on the scale or keyboard is displayed in the "Cord List" on the right. (Red frame on the right side of the figure below)

Then click the random button and it will be randomly assigned to 16 pads (Chord Grid) from the "Chord List".

Each time you press the random button, the code will change.

As a convenient feature, you can lock the code you don't want to replace by right-clicking.

In addition, each grid can be replaced by dragging and dropping.

You can place your favorite code on 16Pad

If you have a Native Instruments Maschine series or a MIDI controller with a pad, you can intuitively create chord rhythms.

With Maschine, if you use the Controller Editor template "FXPANSION GURU", the pad's Midi notes and Forager's MIDI notes will match.

Since it can be arranged freely, you can also use it such as playing chords from Maschine in Live.

For other MIDI devices, it's OK if you can hit C1 to D # 2 from the pad.

What you can't do with Forager

-Cannot export as a MIDI file from Forager
・ No functions such as arpeggiator

Cannot export as MIDI file from Forager

It is not possible to export MIDI as a MIDI file from Forager or output MIDI to other sound sources by dragging and dropping.

This area may be a little annoying.

FL Studio users have a "Burn to midi" feature, so I don't think it's a problem.

After making a chord progression to some extent, output it with "Burn to midi"PhraseboxI think it is also good to edit further using.

No function such as arpeggiator

Forager is code-specific and does not have any features like an arpeggiator.

If you want such a function, export MIDI from Forager with "Burn to midi" etc.Cthulhu,PhraseboxI think that the pattern is the best.

The first 8 bars are Forager only, and the second 16 bars are the chord progressions of the first half.PhraseboxI put it in and edited it. (Delay on it)

Summary of a brief review of the Harvest Plugins code generation plugin Forager

Forager is perfect for people who want to listen to sounds and create chord progressions intuitively.
(I think it's good for people who are looking for originality)

As a personal impression, I feel that it is suitable for techno and ambient.

If you want to make trendy songs or catchy songs, you don't need to buy them.
(If it's fashionableCthulhuI think it's better to buy a code pack)

I've been waiting for a review!
I was planning to buy it too, but I thought I would do it after seeing the reviews.

It's a simple plug-in that looks like watching a video, so it was as I expected to some extent, but it's a useful plug-in.
As you said, it seems to be usable when you want to bring out originality.
The question is whether there is a situation to use it, but even if there is another main code generation plugin
I thought it wouldn't hurt to have it because the psychological hurdle seems to be considerably lowered depending on whether or not there is randomization of code assignment when I want to give out originality.

And the best harvest was "Midi FX Freeze", which gives Logic Pro a MIDI drag-and-drop function when you open the page written above to see if Logic Pro works. It was recommended to use it with a plugin.
Logic Pro has a completely different MIDI routing than any other DAW, so it's very annoying to output MIDI to another track, so it was a harvest.
You can do the same thing in the Play mode of Captain Plugins, but you wanted something simple like this because it has extra features.
    I derailed, but I came across a good plug-in.Thank you w

      Thank you for your comment!
      No ~ I thought I couldn't write this, so I wrote it desperately w

      > As you said, it seems to be usable when you want to bring out originality.

I don't think it's suitable for making really catchy chord progressions, but I think it can give a lot of originality.
Especially when you operate it from a Pad-type MIDI controller, you will get unexpected rhythms and chords, and if you type it in yourself, you will get a pattern that you can never do.
And using the Phrasebox from there makes it a lot more complicated.

I feel that it will come in handy when trying songs that I don't usually make.

      > I derailed, but I came across a good plug-in.Thank you w

If you say so, it is worth the effort to write.
      Thank you very much.

No, every time I see a plug-in like this, I really want MASCHINE.
I think it fits better than the keyboard in terms of how I make it, but I can't afford it ...
I thought it would be okay to use the pad in the Cthulhu preset video of Red Sounds.

Also, it seems that I have received replies to comments in other articles, so I will write them all together.

        > Was there a charge for the upgrade when the version was upgraded?
It's never been expensive to update the Captain Plugins.
It looks like a major update because the major number is up, but it's almost like a minor update because there are many minor corrections.
Rather, I would get angry if I could get money with this, and I don't recommend it.
Although it is an overseas article, it says "Customers get this update for free".rest assured.
        https://ask.audio/articles/captain-plugins-50-out-now

However, I checked my account, but there was no mention of Lifetime Update, so I can't guarantee it until there is a really big change in the future.

        > I feel that it is quite important whether or not to insert Captain Beat.
        I'm worried because I'm criticizing it w I'm sorry w
For the time being, if you give positive information, it is a collection of rhythm patterns, and it is a plug-in that selects and edits a rhythm pattern with a certain amount → drag and drop with MIDI or Wav.
It feels like the number of presets is increasing with updates. There are more and more unofficial user presets that could be used by those who make rhythm tracks that way.
I don't use it so much so I don't know if it can be used ... w

        PS
        > Whenever I buy it, I think it's the same, so I put it off quite a bit, and I'm leaving the Delay of Valhalla I'm thinking of buying ... w
I'm in trouble because I understand too much.

          MASCHINE type Pad is good.
I'm using the first generation, but it's pretty convenient to have.
If you can play the keyboard, the keyboard may be enough, but I can't play the keyboard, so Maschine's Pad is very suitable.

          Thank you for the information.
It's nice information that there is no charge for Apgre so far!
I will also attach Captain Beat and aim for the next sale.

Valhalla Delay When to buy ...
I bought UVI's Layer, and the purchase has been extended again ...
