Focusrite Legacy Plugins Midnight and Scarlett Plugin Suites Now Available for Free
Recently, I feel that there is a steady trend towards free legacy plugins.
I think this is a good flow.
I think that it is a story that can be convinced even as a user who purchased it that it will be free because support will be cut off.
(Since it must have been quite a while since the purchase in the first place, I don't think there are many users who get angry.)
That's why Focusrite's Midnight and Scarlett Plugin Suites are now available for free, so let me introduce them.
Midnight models ISA 130 compressor and ISA 110 EQ, while Scarlett Plugin Suites bundles compressor, EQ, gate and reverb.
Since it is legacy, VST3 is not supported, and GUI size cannot be changed.
Sound demo
Start with Midnight.
I hung it on the drum.
It's good to have a solid compression feeling.
It's an old plug-in, but it has "InputGain", Make up Gain, and Blend.
Sometimes I see paid dynamics or saturator plug-ins that don't have "InputGain", but I think it should be added.
The EQ works well and feels good.
Scarlett tried the comp.
However, I got the impression that it was difficult to decide the sound because the volume change was quite intense.

Both "Midnight" and "Scarlett" can be downloaded from the links below.
Go to the above link and click the link you want to download.
Here, we recommend "Midnight Plug-In Suite" as an example.
Select your OS and click "Download" at the top.
This will start the download.
Installation
Since the installation is an installer, the basic default settings are fine.
Since it is VST2, if the Path is different, you need to specify it on the screen below.
Most VST2 folders are one of the following:
C:Program FilesVSTPlugIns
C \ Program Files \ Steinberg \ VST Plugins
C \ Program Files \ Steinberg \ Cubase \ VSTPlugins
C: \ Program Files \ Common Files \ VST2
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Steinberg\VST2
Activation
Since the activation is common, I will explain it with "Midnight Compressor" as an example.
When you start it, the following screen will be displayed, so click "Activate"
Then, it accesses the web without permission and downloads the file "cape-unlock-key.fnlf".
Then click "Install License"
Since the file selection dialog opens, select "cape-unlock-key.fnlf" downloaded earlier.
Activation is now complete.
Summary
"Midnight" is good because there was only a fee before.
Also, Focusrite has discontinued the Red series as well, so I'd be happy if they joined the ranks of Legacy.
