This is pretty good.

I feel that using AI technology for tapes is a rare idea.

The number of parameters is small, but the range of change when changing the parameters is quite wide.

For example, if you raise the wear and set the MIX to about 50%, you can get the effect of the tape flanger.

I took a video.

It's interesting to use FL Studio's "Fruity peak controller" to modulate the Drive as the Drive parameters move slowly.

By inverting the modulation, you can do less distortion when the sound is louder and more distortion when the sound is quieter.

Wytse's evaluation is also quite good.

Overview

Tape recording has a musical quality not available in digital mixes. TAIP brings this quality to your DAW.This plugin can add real analog heat to your truck.

Tape plugins are not a new concept. However, this emulation method is new. Instead of using traditional DSPs, Baby Audio has developed TAIP around AI algorithms designed to decipher the invisible nuances of analog circuits.

The result is a truly faithful tape emulation that is intuitive and creative to use.It also adds features to accommodate modern workflows. TAIP is used to give the truck a warmth and glue-like touch, or to "drive unpleasantly" instead of a distortion plug-in.

AI-equipped algorithms provide a warm sound like analog tape
With a flexible feature set, you can create custom "tape flavors" for any need.
Use TAIP to add musical saturation and groupings to drums, instruments, vocals and more.
TAIP is Baby Audio's creation of the ideal "tape machine" for the DAW era, combining real vintage sounds with a modern feature set.Its parameters allow you to customize the tape flavor to suit any need.

Put "AI" in TAIP

"AI" is a worn-out word and is often misused. But Baby Audio believes it's the future of music technology. However, it needs to be used purely for a legitimate purpose.

For hardware emulation projects like TAIP, AI offers a more loyal approach to replacing traditional DSP methods.Whereas normal DSP emulation requires "guessing" the effects and interdependencies of various analog components, TAIP uses AI / neural networks to provide the sound and behavior of tape machines. Can be accurately deciphered.Specifically, various training data of dry sound and processed sound are given to the algorithm so that the characteristics that make up the difference can be accurately recognized.By letting AI learn this difference, TAIP can apply it to new audio.

This process may sound too digital for a plug-in that delivers analog sound. But in reality, "analog" and "digital" are fundamentally different areas. To make a computer perform a specific action (sound), you need to think like a computer. Recreating an "analog-style" signal path with a DSP is like thinking about the problem as a human being. The AI approach helps solve problems like a machine and provides more faithful emulation.

Features

  • DRIVE: Traditionally, tape machines are designed to minimize the color of the sound. TAIP is different. You can use the DRIVE knob to add as much color as you need, from subtle heat to intense distortion.

  • MIX / TAPE FLANG: MIX allows tapes to run in parallel. You can get the classic "tape flanging" effect by combining MIX and Wear. This happens when the wear wah and flutter run parallel to the dry track.

  • MODEL: SINGLE is a normal tape emulation, while DUAL chains two tape emulations in the hood and applies half of the DRIVE value to each. This adds some weight to the signal.

  • LOW-SHAPE / HI-SHAPE: These sliders increase or decrease the low-end / high-end saturation above or below the other frequency spectra. (Example: Warm up the drum bass without distorting the low frequencies)

  • GLUE: Tape machines are known to have a compression-like effect due to their low dynamic range. With TAIP, you can add or exaggerate this effect. GLUE gives a subtle sense of unity and is used as an actual compressor.

  • NOISE: You can add tape noise to your liking or no tape noise at all.

  • WEAR: Combines wow, flutter, and frequency response curve changes to make it look like a worn-out tape machine.

  • PRESENCE: Part of the warmth of the tape comes from the attenuated high end. PRESENCE allows you to decide the amount of attenuation by yourself. You can regain the brightness that can be lost with tape.
INPUT.The input level can be selected from two types, NORMAL and HOT (more distorted state), without affecting the output volume.

  • AUTO GAIN: You can add more DRIVE while keeping the output level of the plug-in constant.
