[Free available] Mackie 1202 preamp with EQ on Airwindows released Mackie EQ

A version of Mackity with EQ.

So I think it's okay to replace it with Mackity.

You will get a nice distortion.

Overview

TL; DW: Mack EQ is a Mackie distortion, but with the addition of treble and bass controls.

This is either a big success or everyone gets angry 🙂

Those who wanted a Mackie wanted to do crazy things with a Mackie. We use an older Mackie 1202 (I have a VLZ and know how to use it effectively) before the VLZ to change the sound.I wanted to pass the kick drum through one channel to increase the volume, patch it to another channel for a crazy EQ, and then increase the volume until it explodes. Mackity is set to use only the 1 input section, tap all gains, and make these desks behave the most "clean" I've ever had, my best It was a shot. Mackity was good at producing just that sound for anyone who likes to remove the insert point and patch it to get a reasonably hi-fi sound from an old 1202's mixer.

Undoubtedly, many people know that this idea is ridiculous: these small budget mixers are trash compared to your Neves, APIs, etc.

They will hate this plugin. This is also true for the original two-band version of 2's garbage-like EQ.This does not make a good sound. If you want to give it a try, you might want to pad down the output: it's pretty scary.

Some may be accustomed to the original Mackie analog mixer and know the exact tone.I don't know if such people will be happy with Mack EQ.Because I'm comparing it to a real mixer (8 instead of 1202 bass).I got something else, not a perfect clone. You can certainly get the right type of tone, but I don't think it's exactly controlling the true 100% 90's drum and bass madness.Especially when you start to distort the treble positively, there is a texture that cannot be expressed by the plug-in.

But I got something into the plugin and it got a rough idea.If you can accept some revoicing, or if your usage is something that doesn't mess with hi-hats in the first place, MackEQ may be useful to you. That is my hope.I might be able to find a use for MackEQ myself ... including after a secret project.Apparently I'm devoting myself to the flames of DnB.If I could play music, I would really get something 🙂

If I like to work with the real thing or buy related equipment to learn how to make plugins, check out Mackity, Srsly2 and MackEQ.You can also join my patronage who bears such costs. The port to Apple Silicon (M1 and above) seems to be on track, and we're planning to add VST for the M1 Mac this month. Keep in mind that these things won't help until the DAW maker makes a true native version.
