Introducing the Dubly Enhancer Plugin for Airwindows
Today, I would like to introduce Dubly, a newly released enhancer plug-in from Airwindows.
perhapsDOPAMINE OVERLOUD,Audiothing Type AI think it's the same type.
I tried using it, but it adds noise to a good feeling and increases its presence.
Instead of just adding, noise is added in a natural way according to the strength of the sound.

What is this?A famous type of noise reduction is based on the idea of filtering audio, compressing it 2:1, and adding it to the signal (with variations).Then record it on tape.Then when playing back, the combination is compressed and filtered again, this time subtracted from the signal.That's how you get the perfect sound.
But... no.It doesn't add up.It changes the sound.But... that strange sound is a kind of magic.
Why?First, if you distort the tape, you get overtones.If you distort the sound, you get harmonics faster and in a wider range... but you're subtracting the harmonics you just created.Turn it down.It creates the dynamics of the sound with dynamically changing harmonics and is a true color adder, but simply saturating it does not lose the dynamics.Maybe the machine is out of place... I tune it by ear to bring out a certain magical glow or ambience... maybe it's not really accurate, but maybe it's a special source for some studio's recording machine... me. We may never know, but we do know that this old noise eliminator was a messy beast...
So what if, Airwindows style, stripped of the basics?
Introducing Dubly.This uses uLaw technology (really!) for good, not evil.It also uses simple distortion internally rather than tricky tape emulation (more on that later!).The default is 0.5, which gives the sound a subtle aura of retro magic.However, its calibration method (which is inherently very tricky) allows you to crank out and miscalibrate.Then you get into the crazy, high tension zone and add some high register energy.But that doesn't make it a "single-ended" version of the process (although it's a known secret weapon).It remains a double-ended, full-chain, noise reduction system (i.e. if a single distortion stage was adding noise, but it's not).I'm just... twisted.
Of course there will be more in the future, but for now, Dubly should do heavy metal.It's going to be a little lighter, spaceier and more atmospheric, so this is Not Done.But maybe you'll like a little Dubly on your record.I hope you like it 🙂

Installation
For Win, unzip the downloaded file and put "Dubly64.dll" in the VST2 folder.
Most VST2 folders are one of the following:

Although it has few parameters, it is a very effective plugin.
