Waves factorySpectreIs a 30% off sale for $ 99> $ 69.

This is a plug-in that I bought because it was recommended by my favorite Wytse.

It looks like a version with only an EQ boost, but it's clearly not an EQ.

Please compare the demo with the feeling when boosted with EQ.

You can make the part you want to emphasize beautifully stand out.

Overview

Specter is a sound shaping tool that combines the best of enhancers with a graphical parametric EQ.

The Specter handles the differences between the input and EQ signals and introduces harmonic content into only part of the required spectrum from various saturation algorithms based on classic recording hardware.

The Specter can be used on individual tracks, submixes, and entire mixes, making it ideal for mastering.

Main functions

Ultimate enhancer

The Specter doesn't work like a traditional EQ.Specter introduces harmonic content not found in the original recording, bringing color and life to the sound that wasn't possible with traditional EQ.This feature, which provides near-fantastic content throughout the audio spectrum, led to the name Specter.

The Specter processes the input audio with a 5-band parallel EQ, extracts the difference between this signal and the dry input, processes it with one of the 10 saturation algorithms included, and mixes it with the dry input. The result is a colorful character signal with loud, warm low frequencies, shiny shimmering treble, and a strong midrange.

It brings back dull recordings, makes bass tracks suitable for small speakers, and also acts as a high-end stereo widener thanks to the mid / side matrix.
With Specter, you can sculpt the sound of your tracks using a simple and familiar EQ workflow.

10 Saturate algorithm

Specter is more versatile than a simple enhancer because you can choose from 10 different saturation algorithms to get different colors for each band.It can range from valve warmth to harsh digital clippers, creamy tape saturation to tip bit crushers.

There is a really useful additional mode: clean. This mode does not saturate the difference signal and converts the Specter to a parallel EQ.This makes the result feel very natural, as if there were no processes at all.It removes the rigors of traditional EQ plug-ins and brings the sweetness of parallel processors.

Enhance the sound

The optional 4x and 16x oversampling modes provide primitive sound quality without aliasing, even in aggressive settings.
Three saturation modes: Delicate, Medium and Aggressive to warm up your track quickly.Adjust the amount of harmonics with the input and output volume parameters for more accurate gain control.

De-emphasis mode compensates for EQ boost after distortion. In practice, this means that all EQ boost effects are reduced or removed, depending on the style of distortion and how hard you drive it.You can add harmonics to parts of the spectrum without changing the level of existing content.

Specter processes band by band:

Monaural and stereo signals.
Left or right channel only.
Mid / side channel only.
When they say it's the ultimate enhancer, they really mean it.
