Overview

A masterpiece in the Marshall Museum.
Few amps are as integral to rock and roll history as the Marshall Plexi Super Lead 1959. Softube has taken Marshall's museum piece Plexi (1967, never-before-seen model) under extremely careful security and oversight, modeling every single component to create every imaginable texture and detail. produced a software version ofIt responds exactly like the hardware in any setting and is incredibly responsive to your playing style.

Ultimate sound quality and authenticity Component modeling reproduces Marshall reference units as accurately as possible.
AC/DC engineers also participated. AC/DC engineer Tony Platt (Highway to Hell, Back in Black) selected and positioned the mics and recorded the cabinet responses at Kore Studio in London.
Guitar Hero's Choice Angus Young, Jimmy Page, Graham Coxon, Johnny Ramone, John Frusciante, Slash, Pete Townshend, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix – they all used Plexi Super Leads.
rock and roll history

The Plexi design was commissioned by The Who's Pete Townshend, looking for more power, volume and growl in the mid-'60s high-voltage rock boom. When Eric Clapton founded Cream in 1966, he traded the "Bluesbreaker" combo for a Super Lead.Jimi Hendrix playing Super Lead at Woodstock.

The first Marshall full stack was made for Plexi.Initially, I paired a 100W super-powerful amp with a massive 8x12 speaker cabinet, but soon my tastes changed to two straight and angled 2x4s.Words cannot express how important this amp is.Rock doesn't sound or look the same without this amp.

Your Legendary Engineer

Softube commissioned AC/DC engineer Tony Platt, who worked on the most rockin' albums of all time, to capture impulse responses from a 1960 BHW cabinet and various vintage mics. These sounds are unmatched by mix-friendly magic.A world class engineer built into the plug-in who knows this amp like an old friend.

channel strip

Along with the amp itself, the plugin provides a complete setup and workflow for getting the right sound for your mix. The 3 mic combos - FET, valve and dynamic - were recorded by Platt at Kore Studios in London and the results can be blended and tweaked in the plugin's side panel.

Volume and pan settings for each mic allow you to mix your ideal sound within the plug-in, just like you're working in a top-notch studio. This is more than just an amp shim.A complete workflow for mix-ready guitar tones.

Detailed and versatile tone

The two channels, Lead and Rhythm, each feature high-gain and low-gain inputs that can be combined (or 'jumped') to create a wide range of sounds. From warm, rigid tsings to searing rock god solo screams, The Man can steer you in and out of your way.

Like Angus Young used to play with AC/DC.Jimmy Page played it in Led Zeppelin.Graham Coxon, Johnny Ramone, John Frusciante, Slash... The versatility of the 1959 ("1959" is the model number, not the year of manufacture) and the ease with which it can produce a rich sound of great harmonies defined a genre and a movement.

Don't settle for an inferior rig.No need to put up with fakes.Get the one-of-a-kind Plexi Super Lead 1959 and base your tone on pure rock.
