Fairchild Tube Limiter Collection includes two bundles: Fairchild 670 and Fairchild 660.
Each character is different.
The 660 adds punch to piano, bass, and guitar tracks, while the flagship 670 is a full stereo compressor that injects vibe and color into channels, final mixes, and even the master.

Fairchild 660
Fairchild 660 hardware is a single channel (monophonic) processor. The UAD Fairchild 660 plug-in was faithfully modeled from the original 670 hardware, separate from the modeling of the Fairchild 660 plug-in. The Fairchild 660 may be useful for mono sources or when you need control with a simpler interface. The Fairchild 660 controls are the same as the Fairchild 670 channel 1.
Fairchild 670
The Fairchild 670 is a two-channel (stereo) workhorse that is enthusiastically supported by engineers and producers around the world.
Frequency characteristic
I looked at the frequency characteristics.
It's very different.
The pink line is 660 and the red line is 670.
If the parameters are perfectly matched, the volume will be different, so I adjust it with Output.

When the input exceeds a certain level + the threshold exceeds 16, the frequency characteristics will change considerably.

Fairchild 670 has almost no frequency change.
Overtone
Since it is a tube (vacuum tube), harmonic components are added.
As the input amount increases, more overtones will be produced.
It's evenly distributed at 2x, 3x, and 4x.
Use the Fairchild 660 when you want to actively create sounds, and use the Fairchild 670 when you want to simply use it as a compressor.

Sound demo
I hung it on the drum.
It gives a sense of unity and an aggressive feel.
It is also very suitable for drums with a large number of sounds.
If you raise the side chain, the compression will not be applied to the bass part, which will prevent bass thinning.
I tried using it for a keyboard loop.
You could say it's organic, it gives off a groove feeling.

I solved the problem by deleting the list.
From your browser, select the plugin you want to delete in the plugin database, right-click and open local file.
If I delete the fst file, it disappears from the list.
